Terms of Service

1. Agreement to terms

By downloading, installing, or using the Paisabook mobile application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

These Terms constitute a legal agreement between you and Zrise ("we", "our", or "us"), the developer of Paisabook, reachable at contact@zrise.in.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use Paisabook. By using the App, you represent and warrant that:

• You are at least 13 years old.
• You have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement.
• You will use the App in compliance with these Terms and all applicable laws.

3. The App and its features

Paisabook is a personal finance tracking application that:

• Reads bank transaction SMSes on your device to extract and display financial transactions.
• Categorises transactions and provides spending summaries and budget tracking.
• Allows you to create and share trip expense groups with other users.

We reserve the right to add, modify, or remove features at any time.

4. Not financial advice

Paisabook is an informational tool only. The transaction data, summaries, and insights shown in the App are based on SMS parsing and are provided for your personal reference.

• Nothing in the App constitutes financial, investment, tax, or legal advice.
• Transaction amounts, categories, and summaries may be inaccurate due to SMS parsing limitations, bank format changes, or missing data.
• Always verify financial information with your bank or official statements before making financial decisions.

5. Your account

Paisabook can be used without an account for most features. Optional Google Sign-In is required for trip sharing. If you create an account:

• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device and Google account.
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
• You must notify us at contact@zrise.in immediately if you become aware of any unauthorised use.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the App to:

• Violate any applicable law or regulation.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App or attempt to derive its source code.
• Use the App for any purpose other than personal, non-commercial finance tracking.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the App or its backend services.
• Transmit any harmful, offensive, or disruptive content via shared trip features.
• Impersonate another person or entity when using trip-sharing features.
• Use automated scripts or bots to interact with the App.

7. SMS permission and data

By granting the SMS permission to Paisabook, you authorise the App to read SMS messages on your device solely for the purpose of identifying and extracting financial transaction data. You acknowledge that:

• SMS reading occurs locally on your device; raw SMS content is not transmitted to us.
• The App may incidentally access non-financial SMSes during scanning, but processes only recognised bank/wallet messages.
• You can revoke this permission at any time from Android Settings.

8. Shared trips

When you use the trip-sharing feature:

• You are responsible for the accuracy of expenses you add to a shared trip.
• You are responsible for obtaining consent from other members before adding them to a trip.
• Settlement amounts calculated by the App are informational. We are not liable for any disputes arising from trip expense settlements between users.
• Do not add sensitive or confidential information unrelated to trip expenses.

9. Intellectual property

All content, design, code, and trademarks in the App are the property of Zrise and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes.

You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works based on the App or its content without our written permission.

10. Third-party services

The App integrates with third-party services including Google Sign-In, Firebase Authentication, Firebase Firestore, and Firebase Crashlytics. Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the availability or behaviour of these third-party services.

11. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

• We do not warrant that the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that transaction data parsed from SMS will be accurate or complete.
• We are not responsible for any financial decisions made based on information shown in the App.
• To the fullest extent permitted by law, Zrise shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App.
• Our total liability for any claim arising from your use of the App shall not exceed ₹500 or the amount you paid for the App, whichever is lower.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms. You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. Upon termination, provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive will survive, including intellectual property rights, disclaimers, and limitations of liability.

13. Changes to terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you via an in-app notification or by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of India.
